Sedona
Thursday we drove from Phoenix to Sedona. Moving north, the saguaro make way for trees. It’s still desert with prickly pear and cholla (?) cacti, but not the iconic saguaro. Then the red rocks that make Sedona famous being to appear. The further you drive, the more dramatic they become.
To be continued…
Montezuma’s Castle
Bell Rock
Chapel of the Holy Cross
Cathedral Rock
Red Rocks Park
Flagstaff
Fun fact – when Jackson Browne (who co-wrote “Take It Easy”) actually broke down and had a girl in a flat-bed Ford slow down…it was on this corner in Flagstaff, Arizona. At the time there was a Der Wienerschnitzel here, but it’s now a Dog Haus. Anyway, when Glen Frey was finishing the song, he decided Winslow sounded better than Flagstaff. Also she was apparently driving a Toyota truck.
It feels like nothing is real anymore 😉
